Past experience
Past Experience – From CNA to PA: A Journey Rooted in Care
McKenna’s healthcare journey began on the front lines as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for individuals in long-term and memory care facilities. These experiences shaped her empathetic and service-driven approach to medicine, inspiring her to pursue the PA profession so she could take on a greater role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients.
While in PA school, McKenna completed diverse clinical rotations in surgery, primary care, orthopedics, and internal medicine, gaining comprehensive exposure to patient care across the lifespan. Her strong interpersonal skills and passion for musculoskeletal health made her a natural fit for hand and upper extremity care.
She now brings that drive and dedication to Katranji Hand Center, where she works closely with the surgical team to evaluate, treat, and support patients through recovery and rehabilitation.
